About Morgan Brooks
Morgan Brooks
Morgan is a wife to Lee, a mother to two girls 18 months apart, Brynlee and Emersyn, a wanna-be ranch hand, piano player, cinch maker, podcaster, blogger, breakaway roper, and barrel racer.
She is a veteran – served six years in the South Dakota Army National Guard. She taught first grade through college working for Lake Area Tech, South Dakota State University, and Oglala Lakota College. She has her B.S.Ed. in English Education from Black Hills State University and her M.A. in English from South Dakota State University. Her passions have always been reading, writing, and rodeo (both watching and competing).
She began riding horse before she could walk helping move cattle on her family ranch. She learned to ride English when she was eight and learned to breakaway rope when she was ten. Active in 4-H, she competed in speech contests, horse judging, hippology, and quiz bowl along with numerous other opportunities such as sewing, photography, and showing calves.
She bought her permit in 2021 while seasoning colts. Her goal is to become a World Champion Barrel Racer and a published author.
Once breakaway is added to the main NFR, she intends to win the All-Around title as well.
